SENTENCE TO ALEXEI KUZNETSOV

16.12.2019 The Basmanny Court of Moscow announced the verdict in a high-profile criminal case against Alexei Kuznetsov, ex-Minister of Finance of the Moscow Region and the client of Linnikov & Partners. The sentence of 14 years in prison, in the opinion of his Attorneys-at-Law, is excessive and unfair, given the full recognition of guilt by Kuznetsov, as well as his willingness to contribute to compensation for damage to victims. It is worth noting that the court, due to the efforts of the defense, counted the time spent by Kuznetsov in custody under his house arrest in France, from where Kuznetsov was extradited to Russia earlier this year. The defense intends to appeal the verdict to higher courts and seek a fairer sentence.
