At the press conference held on May 23, 2016 at the GUM Department Store in the Red Square of Moscow one of the central cultural evens of this year – the tour of the legendary Teatro alla Scala of Milan to Russia’s Bolshoi Theatre under the aegis of the Cherry Orchard Open Arts Festival – was announced to the public (La Scala Russian Tour). The press conference was held by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italy to Russia His Excellency Cesare Maria Ragaglini, Superintendent of the Teatro alla Scala Alexander Pereira, President of the Bosco Group Mikhail Kusnirovich and the Director General of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Vladimir Urin. Besides the presentation of the La Scala Tour, Mr. Urin has announced the establishment of the long-term partnership between the two prominent historic institutions of Moscow: the Bolshoi Theater and the GUM Department Store of Russia’s capital.
