14/04/2025, a farewell ceremony was held with Lev Matveevich Entin, an outstanding scientist, teacher and legend of Russian law, who died on April 8, 2025. A man whose works became the foundation for generations of international lawyers, whose lectures inspired and scientific works shaped the legal thought of Russia and abroad, has passed away.

Lev Matveyevich lived a long, eventful and incredibly fruitful life. A graduate of MGIMO in 1951, he devoted himself to science, education and the service of law. His career is the path of a true intellectual and citizen: teaching in Tajikistan, working in Mali, Congo, Belgium, lecturing at the Sorbonne and the University of Louvain, participating in the creation of the Constitution of Russia in 1993. He stood at the origins of the MGIMO Institute of European Law, having educated a galaxy of brilliant lawyers, many of whom today are leading experts, diplomats, and partners of major law firms.

We, his students, L&P partners and lawyers, MGIMO graduates, are proud to have studied with Lev Matveevich. His depth, integrity, and dedication to his profession were an example to us.

Lev Matveyevich will remain in our memory as a wise mentor, a man of encyclopedic knowledge and impeccable decency. His legacy includes not only scientific works, but also hundreds of students who continue his work.

Cherished memory to the Teacher.
