Dmitriy Smola participated in the Council of the Federation “round table”

LEAD Consulting Senior Associate Dmitriy Smola participated in the «round table» discussion of the key issues of development of commercial arbitration in Russia which took place at the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on April 17, 2014. The discussion was centered primarily on the project of the Federal Law «On Commercial Arbitration Courts and Arbitration in the Russian Federation» recently published by the Ministry of Justice of Russia.

The event was attended by the representatives of  the state authorities of the Russian Federation, judges, as well as representatives of the International Civil Litigation Association, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Russian Centre for the Promotion of Commercial Arbitration, the Federal Attorneys’ Chamber, and several leading law firms. Deputy Minister of Justice of Russia Elena Borisenko answered the questions of the participants of the «round table» discussion.

Participants of the discussion put forward several suggestions and propositions on the improvement of the project of the Federal Law «On Commercial Arbitration Courts and Arbitration in the Russian Federation» aimed at the development of efficient and up-to-date legal discipline of arbitration in Russia in compliance with the international experience and best practice of regulations of activity of commercial arbitration entities.
