Today Russia for the 40th time celebrates the Day of the Medical Professional — a professional holiday established in the USSR in 1980. The L&P team congratulates all the brave men and women — doctors, nurses and support staff — that selflessly and passionately work to save lives and relieve suffering. The COVID-19 pandemic that rages across the globe puts enormous pressure and responsibility on medical personnel worldwide and stresses the importance of the medical profession in the modern society. We appreciate the every-day heroic sacrifice of our doctors and nurses in a particular way because of the similarity between the medical and legal professions: whereas the medical professionals are responsible for the physical wellbeing of the people, the legal professionals work to assure social health of individuals.
